The Gardner Technologies MetaSeal™
As part of a comprehensive and flexible product strategy, Gardner Technologies has also developed the MetaSeal™, which is the perfect solution for those wine producers that are actively seeking a cork-free closure solution. The MetaSeal™, designed specifically for wine, addresses two critical areas not currently being addressed by available technologies: traditional and visually appealing aesthetics, and superior sealing and preservation of quality. At present, screw caps are the only other functional closure solution available to wineries. In short, the MetaSeal™ provides a superior "non-cork" seal while retaining the traditional look of a foil-finished cork-closed bottle of wine.
The MetaSeal™ is currently undergoing extensive product testing. The first launch of the MetaSeal™ is scheduled for Q4 2003 with general availability in 2004.
